If i wanted a little tube amp for practice in the apartment . . .

This. I had a SF Champ and sold it.

Stupid....stupid.....stupid....

Ultimate practice/recording amp.

I once bought a 1965 Blackface Vibro Champ at a garage sale for $5, great amp but I sold in after a few years because I had another amp that did pretty much the same thing. I sold it to a guy I used to know, maybe I should look him up and see if he's still playing and if not would he sell it back to me.

Damn I wish Craigslist wasn't blocked at work, Howie's going on a link dump and this topic has my interest.

I got a SF champ a few years ago. It had a blown speaker and was about $200-250, I can't remember exactly.

I replaced the speaker with a Weber and have even gigged with it a few times. It's a great little amp. The one drawback to mine, and I don't know if this is the case with all champs, is that it doesn't have much high end sparkle. It gets a really sweet, warm sound but not the jangly fender cleans I often crave.

weird. mine are both bright as can be.

I picked up a Vibro Champ XD last year for about $150. It's a great little amp. The speaker sucks, but what do you expect from 8". I liked it through my 1x10 and 1x12 cabs. Much more versatile than my Valve Junior

I have yet to browse my local craigslist for guitar gear since I moved here.

I'd end up spending way to much money. :embarrassed:
