I just can't sell stuff. Literally. Last time I did a guy threatened me with a lawyer.
A guy made me a lowball offer and I asked him if we had a deal before I marked it as "reserved". Immediately after doing so I had a guy from a couple of towns over tell me that he would pay full price and come pick it up that night. I immediately sent the other guy a message that I was sorry, but I couldn't go through and that I really needed the full price. Half an hour later the guitar was gone. Two days later the lowball writes back that it was a legally binding verbal agreement and that he had "sold his only gigging guitar to buy this one and had a gig coming up and I would have to pay for their lost wages if he couldn't make the gig" (bullshit, we looked and his band up on FB and he had many gigging guitars and I doubt he sold his Gibson LP to buy a 450€ Chapman). I had to sick my daughter onto him since she's more adept at scouring German legal mumbo. He really dogged me for three days mercilessly with this. My wife refuses to let me do it myself now. I felt bad about it at least, but I thought, wrongfully that most guys were cool if you timely went about it.
I know. He didn't. The guitar he said was his "Only Guitar" was a lower model Chapman single cut LP type, but his stage shots show an Am Strat, a higher end Gibby LP reissue and the Chapman. No way he had sold the other two and only kept the Chapman that he obviously didn't think too highly of. Damned liars...Trying to wrap my head around- Somebody, actually selling their only gigging guitar without checking out yours in person.![]()

This is the most recent family photo I have. I've added another guitar since then.

I love that guitar and I'll probably hang on to it forever. There are plenty of nicer LPs out there but the neck profile, unusual color, and (surprisingly for Gibson) good QC on that particular instrument make it a keeper. I'd probably have to spend crazy money to find something I'd like better.Ohhh you still have the trad pro LP? I miss mine
