Technique Exercise #4 - Hammer ons and Pull offs E-mail
This is a simple technique lesson designed to help you strengthen your "hammer on" and "pull off" techniques.

These techniques allow us to play "legato" passages on the instrument.  To play "Legato" means to play smoothly between notes without separation...sometimes we call this "slurring" a passage of music.  The curved line in the music or tab below shows you where the "slur" is.  To slur "up" in pitch we use a "hammer on", and to slur down in pitch we use a "pull off"...we do not pick the slurred note....

Be sure to do these exercises in time with a metronome.  In the video I have mine set to 60bpm.  This will be a useless exercise if you do not practice it in time!
