Yoga pants season vs Shorts season

Which is the better season? Yoga pants or shorts? Obviously both have their pro's.

Of course most people will say the summer season with shorts, the beach and all but I saw two arguments in favor of yoga pants season this morning. One at the outdoors hiking/camping/climbing store and the other at petco ... I'm voting yoga pant season jus sayin'
