Hot or Not? Yamaha SX-60 ('70s precursor to the SG/SBG)

Kick Henry Jackassowski
One of the "Devils Head" Yamaha guitars, called so because of the headstock shape (which is beautiful, btw).

Looks to be in excellent shape. I can't find any info on the specs, just that it was the forerunner of the Yamaha SG, single-coil pickups that sounded more like humbuckers.

Have no idea if it's been repainted or if those are the original tuners, they look very clean.

edit: upon further research, it seems original tuners were all chrome/nickel-encased. These are *probably* newer tuners.

At the Music Go Round in Ann Arbor. I wouldn't mind driving over there just to check it out. They are supposed to be fairly rare guitars.

It’s interesting and reeks of the 70s. The upper bout is too small to handle a neck pickup visually; this design is more suitable to a bass that only has a middle pickup. And OMG is that thing thick; it must weigh a ton. They solved the former problem with the Yamaha SG, the latter problem still needs solving with a thin version that has a weight comparable to Gibson’s SG.
