why don't I hear more about Zoom?

I have a Zoom 707 II that I bought as a first step into effects.

It was fun, it I found that all I ever did was cycle through the effects and make noise. The rockabilly setting was alright though. Of course, I know better now.

I've had to fix it twice. The jacks were not very well soldered on the board.

I was going to post about how I think my JM4 looper is pretty mediocre and then I glanced at it and realized it's a Line 6 product.

Nothing to see here, carry on.

I have a Zoom 9150 rack preamp I picked up for about £50 in 2006/7. I think it's a pretty decent bit of kit at that price.

I recorded the track linked below over an HC backing track using my Yamaha Pacifica 402S into the Zoom on a stock patch through the line in on my laptop using Audacity. The only audio tweaking was to try and balance the volume levels between the guitar and backing track.

MP3 title says it all about the playing though. :-\

I have an up-right bass with a Fishman double piezo pick-up installed on the bridge. Feed back was always a problem. Tried various pre-amps. Fishman, L. R. Baggs. Then I found an old Zoom 504ii acoustic pre-amp. The best so far. The feedback elimination circuit works pretty well.
