I had a blue Formula 1 and a series 1000 back in the 90s.....they were decent but the 1000 was a gift from a later EX and I grew to hate it & gave it away.

Speaking of pocket watches, what's a good company to check out that makes what would be authentic 1870's-1880's pocket watches? I ordered a shootin' iron (can I mention that, or is that still a no-no with the google ads?) and need to put together an authentic costume/set of duds one of these days.

Oooops..i did it again. Bargain I could not pass up on Watch u Seek sales forum. Never had the brand before but it is really well built. Behold! BULOVA!

Has a Valjoux 7750 as the motor (the tele of the watch industry),with saffire crystals front and back. This style (Accutron Gemini chronograph) was, as the name implies, originally built for the space program, but didn't meet all of NASA's stringent requirements. However, one Bulova was left on the surface of the moon as part of the first landing. The pitchfork (tuning fork, really) seconds hand is SO me.

Can't wear one without feeling like I'm being tied to something. Odd. Must've come from a previous life. People have bought me watches but I never wore them. They go back early as 1962 (Timex). I did buy a Seiko pendulum chronograph watch in 1974 that I kept on my belt when I was in the military. I used it as a stop watch back when I had stuff to time. I do like the cute little machines, though.

Nice score!

Man, lately I have been lusting after the Explorer II. Sporty yet reserved, just my type:

Bulova makes a wide array of watches (as you probably know)......some are most excellent! I really like that one.

My last watch was a Bulova.

It was the 10-year gift at the place I work at, so it was an el-cheapo Bulova, but it still kept very accurate time. Water resistant, but not water proof, and after a few times going thru the washer it finally died :(

We have to take watches and rings off at work, and I'd forget that it was in my pants pocket and it'd go thru the wash.
