Christmas?

I hate the stress, the rampant consumerism, the pressure of participating in 'festive fun' with people you don't even like, partners who go all mental with the stress of organising, having the in-laws over... I don't even like turkey (the animal, I love the country :embarrassed: )

On the other hand, you can be drunk for 3 days and nobody notices

I despise it. Aside from the disgusting BUY BUY BUY aspect, I think it's a terrible idea to force people together at the height of cold and flu season. Inevitable, there's always at least one person at every Christmas get-together who's sick.

I loves me some turkey, though.

I like the holiday aspect of it and I like getting together with people I care about.

The commercialism and rampant consumerism I despise.

Love the food.

For some reason it's not bothering me as it has the last few years. I've started doing almost all of my shopping online, so I don't have to spend time out and about, listening to the shitty Christmas music and fighting the crowds. Spending six weeks teaching Christmas music to my students isn't a blast, but this year the majority of my students opted out, with only the really little kids interested. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are pretty stressful though.

It's ok. No real family around and no kids or grand kids or great grand kids so.
I have quite a few gigs so a lot of playing eating and drinking.

Not my thing

I'm a loner. I hate Christmas get-togethers

And I spend the rest of the year dreading Christmas :(

What a bunch of Humbugs!

It's the magic of Chrisssstmassssss

I like that song about some asshole on a train or something going to visit Santa's grave or something?

I've always enjoyed Christmas. It's been hard since my grandmother died, though; she loved this time of year and went overdrive this time of year.

I make a mild effort to avoid Christmasy things until December 10th or so. It's amazing what a difference makes if you avoid television and commercial radio.

And my kids are still and the awe and wonder age. So that's really something that's enjoyable.

I don't enjoy it anymore. The kids part of it is good but every year in recent years it gets more and more stressful financially as my customers have made a tradition of taking the holidays off from lessons so that they can save a little money. We also have a full week's worth of days between thanksgiving and New Year's Day that I can't collect revenue because we are closed for those holidays. Even offering reschedules for those students hasn't really helped much. The holiday party gigs that used to be so lucrative have largely dried up too. I really shouldn't complain but this time of year gets shittier and shittier for me. If I could get far enough ahead during the year I would just close the doors from December 15th to January 2nd.
