Which fretboard?
The neck is walnut and some sort of lightly figured soft maple.

1. Hard maple. Not the same species as in the neck exactly and it's not figured at all. Just plain maple. But it's hard and the grain looks nice. The color is pretty close to what's in the neck and once they have some tint, you'll never know they aren't a match.

Contestant B is Osage Orange. I cut this tree myself like Paul friggin Bunyan, dried it and turned it into a board. It's way way harder than the maple.
But it turned out a hair short. It'll accommodate the entire fretboard but it ends at the nut. I'd have to do a wide nut and blend it in I guess. A minor detail, really.
Also, how's the color look with the maple stripe?

I'm going maple. I like the grain better, and I am just a bit traditional, sometimes.

Also, since there is maple already in the neck, it matches up better. I think having a third wood involved would make it just a little "wood shoppy". Just my opinion though.

Oh, and derp.
