What's your favorite type of Miso

There are different kinds? :confused: :grin:

I like miso soup...I don't know if I've tried different varieties of it. I like Japanese food but obviously I'm not a connoisseur.

Red white and yellow I think. I know red and white for sure

For soup I much prefer the white. If I'm gonna pickle a veg, I'll use the red. Do try and buy some imported from Japan. The taste is way different than what is made here in the States. Same with Soy Sauces and mirin. I don't eat a lot of that stuff anymore, the salt content would make my BP go into orbit.

Miso is linda like wine. White or yellow with fish, red for beef. Pork can take either red or yellow.

If you can find 3 year aged, more the better.
