What was the "most fun" car you've ever owned.

Not necessarily the fastest, best made, quickest or most reliable, but the MOST FUN?

You know, something you had a blast in every time you drove it?

When I was 18, I bought (co-signed a loan) for a 1985 Mazda RX-7. It was a 5 speed and had the bigger engine and a 4 barrel carb.

It was like driving an overpowered go-cart around.
It had a footrest pedal all the way to the left in the driver's footwell that you could stand on when cornering, like with your ass all the way off the seat, perfectly straight up and down, pushing all your weight down on the front driver's side wheel for better traction.

I almost killed myself in that car numerous times.
But by the grace of GOD am I still alive today.

It wasn't "super fast" (top speed was 117.5 mph). Guess how I know that?
It was quick, though.
And the handling was absolutely phenomenal.
I would love to get another one someday, just to mess around with and drive around on the weekends.

Mine looked identical to this one.

Yep, fire engine red. I think that was the first car I lost my license in, actually.
Shocking, I know.

I had some GOOD times in that car.....

Every vehicle I've owned has been pretty vanilla.

My favorite is still the first one I bought on my own...a 93 Ford Explorer Sport. Two door, 4x4, 4L V6, and 5 speed manual transmission.

Looked just like this, only had different wheels.

I miss my Exploder. Really missed it this winter. I bought a new Tundra 4x4 last summer to replace it, so this last winter was certainly do-able, and the Toyota is good in the snow with great ground clearance, but I worried when the kids took it out in the snow. With the Ford, I actually told them that if they bounced it off a tree and no one was hurt, back it up and keep going.....

1971 Ford Country Squire Wagon.

It was a hand-me-down from my parents, and we called it "The Beast." It was fun because I could fit all my friends in it, plus never had to worry about it (i.e.: starting, getting dinged, getting stolen, etc. . . ). It was a horrible car.

There were two that put a smile on my face every single time I drove them. A Jeep CJ7... old school with the fold down windshield. I put a 1200 watt stereo system in it that was completely hidden. Even the radio had the old spin knobs because the controller for the CD changer under the back seat was on the flip down visor. :baimun:

But the Jeep wasn't reliable enough to own for long. My Porsche 944 was a daily driver for 6 years. While we had a couple incidents with the mechanic, overall it performed like an ass kicking rolex watch. Even in the winter, I'd just stab at the gas, drift the tail out a little, and laugh at the rooster tail of snow that both rear tires would kick up like a snow-going jet ski.

2008 Mazdaspeed3. Looks pretty much like a regular econobox hatchback/miniwagon, but comes from the factory with 263 hp. A little ECU tweaking of the turbo boost and you can easily get that to around 300 at the wheels. A great little sleeper car.

1991 Ford Escort GT...

...mine was black...

Not the fastest top speed but it was quick and handled well...had a 5 speed with a short throw shifter...

It was the best car I ever owned until the Mazda3 I have now...and definitely the most fun...

A lot of Porsche fans on here.......
I caught the bug from my Dad, who owned the fastest one I've ever driven:

He let me drive it to my senior prom, which was both awesome and terrifying. It was eventually stolen and never recovered.

He owned 3 over the course of his life, to include the aforementioned 83 911 SC and, most recently, a Boxter S.

My 2000 green Hyundai Accent hatchback with standard transmission. That car was so much fun to drive and suited my personality, especially after I added this to the back window:

I had a long wheel base 6 cylinder Ford ranger PU with a 5 speed.
Loved that little truck. Big enough to haul most anything, good mileage.
Had a lightweight shell on the back I kept on to haul gear and camp, but easily removable if the need arose.

My Corvette Z06 is the most fun I have ever had on four wheels.

Although my S-10 4x4 was fun too on the rare occasion that I got to take it off road.

1976 VW Rabbit. Stock carb took a dump, so my dad and I ended up putting the 2-barrel Weber conversion kit on it. That car would scoot, man. And when the exhaust broke right after the header it'd really move. Loud as hell, though
