What happened to all the 80s and 90s metal guitars with graphics paint jobs?

anyone remember those absurd and gaudy ibanezes, jacksons, esps, bc riches, kramers, etc. with the airbrushed imagery? artists like Pamelina and Eddie Meek painting topless blondes on beaches and skeletons and even some dungeons and dragons-type bullshit?

where are they now (the guitars; not the artists)?

i miss them.

I know Warren Demartini still uses his "rising sun" guitar and George Lynch his zebra stripes...

I saw Steel Panther a couple of weeks ago and Satchel played this one all night, the red was so bright and it looked great under lights.

i can only hope that's true. attention man-cave-dwelling-graphics-owning-cool-waiters: bring those mighty axes to the surface and let us see them in public again.
