I am just waiting on the old beat up bridge that I have to re-assemble and I will wire it all up.
 
you really need a beat up pickguard. That one stands out way to much. Get a beat up one, or beat that one up a bit and that thing will look awesome.
 
The two pickguards shown are different.

I think that I am going with the top one and I will just beat it up a bit. I keep looking on ebay but I have not seen a good one that is messed up to my liking yet
 
That Rory was indeed the inspiration when I looked at the body. I was originally going with a rosewood board but who am I kidding? I am a maple neck guy
 
Funny, I've only had maple FB teles and rosewood FB strats (except a little Peavey T-30 that is sort of strat-ish). I've not had a maple-neck strat for a very long time. That's one of the reasons I find the 60th Anniversary Classic Player 50s strat (the MIM w/nitro finish) so appealing, even though I currently have a strat...
