Well, since my drum machine is a piece of junk

EZdrummer is great. You can program your own beats, use the stock beats, tweak the stock beats, or use triggers and play your own drums in real time (which is what I do). The sounds are real as hell. If you just put in a little time to learn how to use it, you'll dig it.

He could do the drum work on the computer, throw it on a jump drive and then import it into the stand alone deck.

Hmmm, thats possible i think. Although the female input into the deck isnt the regular USB thingie, its a small squarish plug. Im sure there are adapters though.

Actually this was my first attempt in EZ drummer. I built the drum part in the MIDI editor in ProTools: [MP3]http://www.markweinguitarlessons.com/2009RF/TheLastTime.mp3[/MP3]

linky?

Never mind. Weird, i can see the link when i quote, but not in the post.

I have that song on a CD in the car.

You have to push the "Play" button on the mp3 player...its the sideways triangle...

I'm retarded. I have no idea what you are talking about.

I do my drums on a laptop, render a .wav, burn it to disc, and import it to my standalone.
Slightly time consuming, but in the grand scheme of things, not really so bad.

Is that the talk radio station that plays Round and Round on traffic updates?

EZdrummer seems like the best according to you guys. I may buy, stay tuned.

Jake, just to reiterate what the others have said, what you can do is load in one of the preset patterns in EZD and then edit it later to suit your needs. Probably easier way to go than building everything up from scratch. Also look into Steven Slate Drums. You missed the $20 deal he had on his, but still less than $200. There are also more kits to choose from in Steven Slate Drums (including 2 kits modelled on John Bonham's kit).

I just can't dig the drum sounds. The snare on both of those are just so weak to me. :(

Favorite part of that radio station. :embarrassed:
