Weekend wrap up

I'm doing this early because I'm sure I'll be asleep soon.

Friday - not much, just errands and work

Saturday - work and gig at the blue beet. This is how exciting my break between sets is https://www.periscope.tv/w/aLKU0jU0...2coU7Mr8aRREaNmzt8f-d2O-KgofL9E7H15fkbSi5H2E=

My son had three of his friends for a sleepover so the house was still rocking when I got home at 3:30  got to sleep after 4 and was woken up at 7. Mrs w took our daughter to a water park play date and I promptly fell down our back steps and thought that I had broken my elbow whole she was gone. Turns out I'm just really sore on that side of my body and possibly a little bit of whiplash from bouncing off of the concrete patio floor. Yay.

Worked Saturday, followed by a strange and very frustrating afternoon that was remedied by an epic evening, the details of which are not suitable for a family forum...

Today I went grocery shopping, had a very interesting and rewarding communication with the other member of my previous evening's adventure, went and looked at a possible solution to my housing dilemma, and then hung around watching the Mets game and puttering...

My life has become really interesting and disturbingly bizarre lately...

Spent most of the weekend putting the downstairs back together, every thing had to be disassembled for the new floor project. It's looking great now, and I'm a happy guy.

it took most of yesterday afternoon to get all the lp's and cd's back on the shelves. (OK I did take a lot of breaks).

Lots of time spent on electronics. My long-neglected music system in the big room has a new amp now and sounds fantastic. Enjoying Knopfler's Get Lucky on vinyl right now.

Also monkeyed with the TV/home theatre system in the other room a lot.

Now I just need to figure out where the guitars are going to go. :)

Went out for Thai food on Friday night.

Saturday was the company picnic, and my supervisor didn't show up. Moron.

Hung out with Smurfco today and played teles.

Friday: Worked with my brother to tear down the privacy fence at our mom's and replaced it. 10 sections.
Saturday: Cut grass, cut tree limbs in my yard. Played guitar, drank whiskey and went to bed.
Sunday: Watched movies, hung bird feeders for my wife, updated my tabs binders, and did laundry. May play some guitar later.

Friday - Went out to dinner with the Mrs. and then played some guitar and hung at home

Saturday - The Mrs. and I went to the Los Angeles Arboretum for a Plumeria show. Plumeria's are my new hobby as of the past two years. Bought a few new clippings as well as a couple of seedlings. Got one more month before they start to begin to go dormant depending on the SoCal weather.

Sunday - Hung some curtains for the wife along with some chores. Then went to a seminar in the afternoon. In the late afternoon I

Friday - worked. Mostly wrapping things up before two weeks vacation.
Then we went to Swiss Chalet for my grand daughters birthday dinner. She chose. We call it The Dirty Bird.
It was good though. Then we went out to see the band and a lot of our friends showed up. My daughter and her friend were there too. They all left and the guys called me up on stage...

Saturday - lots of running around and then we hosted two of my cousins and their families for dinner and drinks. They're in town for a wedding.

Sunday - packed the truck and drove to Windsor. We're seeing ZZ Top in about

Fri. Rained. Didn't do much. Went to work.

Sat. Wife worked a double. Got to make some noise. Watch some Monkees in TV. Took a nap and went to work. Wedding, Bachelor party, Concert ( Tanya Tucker) Busier than hell. Drove bus until 4:embarrassed:0 a.m.

Sun. Slept. Woke up, watched Batman movie, 60's one. Picked wife up at work. Took her to church in Madison. Wandered aimlessly around State Street. Got home changed and went to work early. Get to go home in about an hour and a half. Then go to bed, wake up and my weekend officially starts.

BTW I'm doing this because I spent so much time driving this weekend I'm two days behind on my paperwork and am trying to avoid it for another hour.

Ah, a three day weekend with a long awaited lower humidity and temperature, just in time for me to catch a fuckin' cold. :annoyed:

Fri/Sat/Sun took it super easy with naps, playing guitar, naps, watching a few baseball games and naps.

Saturday was an awesome day for me and my bandmates.... It was a little rainy, but we hung out at a marina by Lake Michigan and got our pre-gig drinks on.

There's a bar near the marina that we've been trying to get into for over a year. We dropped off a new promo package and told the manager that we were in town to play the Blue Chip casino and his tune suddenly changed. "Can you play next week?" Umm... no we're pretty full over the next two months but... "Okay we'll definitely get you on the schedule before the end of fall". Cool, that was easy. :)

Played a show at the Casino. It was a pretty crazy load in... rolling a cart of gear from security all the way to the center of the casino. We played our sets with high energy, only throwing a couple slow songs in the middle of the first two sets... we just flowed from one song to the next with the drummer doing the intros over musical vamping. We kept it like a DJ mix with little to no pauses between songs, and there were people on the dance floor all night, with even bigger crowds surrounding them at the tables, at the bar, and along the wall between the venue and the casino. People would be walking through and stop and listen for a good long while.

I don't think we've ever had a show with so many people taking video and our pictures. Every couple songs there would be some women at the front of the stage taking selfies with us in the background. I'm watching Facebook to see them start popping up.

(this one doesn't count because we know them)

Sunday we woke up late (I didn't get to bed until 4:30 am) and just chilled, watching netflix. I finished season 2 of Fringe. :)

Friday - worked til 6:30. Went home and chilled.

Saturday - I had one AM appointment, then went fabric shopping with Carol. She did treat me to lunch where I had my one (and possibly last) pumpkin ale. It just isn't the taste I look for, and when you drink as little as I do, there's no sense drinking stuff you don't love.

Sunday - Up at 6:30 AM. I drove 3 hours to Montpelier, VT to perform at Bagitos Bagel and Burrito Cafe. It was a nice, funky place that didn't promote my show as much as they could (should) have, but it was still a nice crowd and a fun experience. I then went to Guitar Sam, just down the street from Bagitos. They are authorized dealers for Breedlove, LAG. and Luna. I got to see some Lunas I had only seen online, and was able to try out the Luna banjo and a couple of ukes. If I get another uke, it will probably be a tenor and will be A/E. I have played the LAG before; I tried a couple of the Breedloves but was not thrilled by them. Later I made the decision to add a pickup to my Muse Burst, since it has that sunburst pattern I want in a guitar. I'm still figuring out which pickup I want.

Friday: worked then didn't do much but relax once home.
Saturday: laundry, played with a new (promising) drummer for the original stuff
Sunday: visited @Help!I'maRock! for Tacos 'n' Teles

Friday: It was my sister's farewell party, as she was moving to NYC on Sunday. Huge party at my parent's house and I brought the new GF to meet everyone. Went really well and we all had a fun time.
Saturday: Left home at 5:embarrassed:0a to head to Nashville. Spent the morning hitting up several guitar stores (there may be a new thread about that this week) and there may be a NGD very soon. After that I met up with @gibbymcfender for lunch and then went to hang out with some other friends before heading to the Smokin Peas' farewell show! @jaxn slim has his own thread on that, but it was a lot of fun and he killed it! I drank a lot. A LOT.
Sunday: Had some brunch with Shawn, Ms. Slim, and the kiddo and drove home. Spent the rest of the evening recovering from a lot of party and too little sleep.

Great weekend. Wish every weekend was that fun!

Saturday - A friend came over Saturday night and we broke out the good scotch and had a few glasses. Went to dinner at a Cantonese place that we like.
Sunday - Another longish bike ride (47 miles) which brought the total miles to 140 this week (I love not working ). Sunday's ride was a similar route to last Sunday's insane climb but I avoided that climb this time and that part of the route was not bad at all. Unfortunately for me I took a new way back and ended up on another insane climb but fortunately this one was similar in grade but about 1/2 as long so I managed without too much suffering. Chilled the rest of the weekend. My replacement cable for my headphones came in so I was able to play electric guitar in peace (according to my wife)
