Hey folks!

We've actually discussed this before but I figured I would put a sticky thread up with what pays for the operating costs for us, which include a dedicated server and daily backup service. That alone runs about $2300 a year not including raffle prizes.

1. Skimlinks - this is a service that is invisible to you on the forum but we make a small commission from selected websites if you click on a link here and buy a product there. The biggest fundraiser since we've applied for this have been things that you guys have bought from Musicians Friend through the "Stupid Deal of the Day" threads here. Pretty much any link you post in the forum and then click on to make your online purchase will pay a small (around 2% on average) commission.

2. The "Donate" button:

3. The MWGL gift shop! http://www.cafepress.com/mwgl - shirts and all kinds of junk. We make about 20% of the sale so its a $3-4 profit for most items. Not huge but it helps!

In addition to that, the occasional "Like" or posting of a thread on Facebook or other music forums also helps get the word out about new lessons, webcasts, Recordingfests and other events here on the forum which in the long run helps to grow and strengthen the community here.

Also, if you are looking for a book to work out of to strengthen your core concepts on the guitar then "Foundations for Guitar" is also available in hardcopy and electronic versions. I can also work out "bulk" deals for Guitar teachers that wish to use the book with students.

Electronic Versions:

Ebook for computers: http://www.lulu.com/product/ebook/f...ngContext=product_view/more_by_author/right/1

Contact me directly for wholesale pricing for teachers or a test and evaluation copy if you can send a business card or website as "proof of instructor-ness" :)

I was wondering why your sig didn't have the lulu link, since that is where I first went when I was going to buy your book, until I asked you first.

I discovered early on that the average stranger online was more likely to buy something from Amazon where they could get free or cheaper shipping combining it with other purchases than buying an unknown guys book on an unfamiliar website. Now that I'm a little less unknown I'm hoping to change that :)

You should start a thread and just post links to popular online stores that work with this. Then when ever we need to shop from one, we come here, click the link and do our normal online shopping. I know I would take the extra step to come here before buying something in order for you to get you 2%.

I think it needs to be a link to a specific product. Maybe just a thread for people to post their links in? I'd imagine most online retailers that we'd use would be included.
