Trick question, because you should never cut toast, unless it is part of a sandwich.

The only time I ever have cut toast is when I go out for breakfast and it's almost always cut on the diagonal. I have no need to cut the toast at home.

1 is clearly correct (the pointy points are better for dipping in your runny egg yolk). Toast points are a thing for a reason.

But I hardly ever cut my toast

I am another who never cuts toast, but most restaurants I have been to cut it on the diagonal. Personally, I don't much care how it is cut; it all tastes the same, which is rather dry and bland.

Keto.

No toast in my diet

So cut the toast any damn way you want.

Bigger things to worry about. Like the over roll or the under roll on toilet paper holders when placing new tp.

I only eat toast if I'm having breakfast out (which is rare) and it's usually diagonally cut. There's no right way to cut a flaxseed/spinach/berry smoothie so I didn't vote.
