Utterly, utterly delicious.
the pic does not convey how superb the base was (crisp yet soft) and how tasty the spicy salami and tomatoes were...not to mention the buffalo mozzarella.
If you get the chance to visit the Amalfi coast, I'd highly recommend it...Positano, Ravello, Scala, all beautiful places. The Herculaneum is absolutely awesome, actually more to see imo than Pompeii though it is smaller. Vesuvius kind of broods over Naples and I do wonder how they're going to deal with it when it blows again. So many people live around there now.
Getting a ride on a local bus on the mountain road up from Amalfi to Scala is pretty much like going on the biggest fun fair ride you can think of....without any seatbelts. Thrilling but also rather worrying
In the town of Ravello, there are two villas (Ruffolo and Cimbrone) with the most beautiful gardens and astonishing views across the sea. Tough to get a good picture actually, you have to see it to believe it.
I'll post more pics as I sort them, but thought I'd post the important ones first.
