Utterly, utterly delicious. the pic does not convey how superb the base was (crisp yet soft) and how tasty the spicy salami and tomatoes were...not to mention the buffalo mozzarella.

If you get the chance to visit the Amalfi coast, I'd highly recommend it...Positano, Ravello, Scala, all beautiful places. The Herculaneum is absolutely awesome, actually more to see imo than Pompeii though it is smaller. Vesuvius kind of broods over Naples and I do wonder how they're going to deal with it when it blows again. So many people live around there now.

Getting a ride on a local bus on the mountain road up from Amalfi to Scala is pretty much like going on the biggest fun fair ride you can think of....without any seatbelts. Thrilling but also rather worrying :embarrassed:

In the town of Ravello, there are two villas (Ruffolo and Cimbrone) with the most beautiful gardens and astonishing views across the sea. Tough to get a good picture actually, you have to see it to believe it.

I'll post more pics as I sort them, but thought I'd post the important ones first. :embarrassed:

The touristy places of southern Germany like Garmisch and Füssen are loaded with Italian tourists that are keen to quality in their Italian quisine. Going to one of those places for pizza is just like stepping into a whole new realm of cheezycrispityliciousness.

There wasn't a single German in this place :embarrassed:

I visited the Amalfi coast on a day trip to Pompeii from Rome in 2002. It's incredibly beautiful. I hope to be able to get there again.

:thu: I'm pretty sure we'll be back :)

Here's one of the view from our hotel pool area, the other side was overlooking the sea

Ciao Mo!
Great pix,I have to get back to Italy one of these years.

Amazing looking pizza! Looks like the one I had at this place called Dough in San Antonio. I'm sure yours was better but this place was amazing and of 54 certified US restaurants certified for serving authentic Pizza Napoletana. Going back in January so will be dining there again.

Ciao, chow...

I just realized that I haven't been to Pompeii in 35 years. Fuck aging in it's meathead fucking face!
