This evening's quickie visit to the local GC (feat. New Epi 339s!)

How did I get here?
I hadn't been there in damn-near a month , so I stopped in on the way back from dlivering the daughter back to the Big City. I wasn't expecting much, but there was some kinda cool stuff:

I knew Epi was bringing out a 339-sized Casino, but did NOT see anything about these:

Trans red, and actual Pelham Blue (not that "TV" Pelham crap that had the recent run).

And, the Royale family gets the Candy Apple Red treatment:

That would be the silver-sparkle binding like on the black Royales.

Finally, Classic '60s Strat and Baja Tele get the Vegas treatment:

I gotta say those 339 P90 Pros are mighty sweet .

Epiphone has got it going on. The sparklecasters are nice, too. Now I want to see one of those mini-casinos. I’m gassing for a jazz guitar.

Same here. That TV Pelham was complete failure in my book. Pelham is a solid color, not semi-opaque with no grain filler. It just didn't work.

That TV Pelham finish is an odd one. I don't consider it a complete failure, but it does look odd to me. I think a semi-opaque Pelham with no grain filler could work if it were a satin finish on a body with no binding (like an LP Jr, for example). But when the body is bound and has glossy clear over it, to me it looks more like someone made a mistake in the finishing process when I look at it up close.

The next chapter in Adventures with Epiphone Hollowbodies, by Elias Graves (3rd ed.).

But yeah, I'm thinking that's a cool guitar.

 Third time is a charm?
Alleykat: Warped body.
Casino: (90s Peerless model. I fell for the internet hype about how great they were only to find an ok guitar with really shitty hardware that I didn't feel like upgrading.) The Bigsby was the killer on the casino. Had it been a trapeze tail, I might have kept it but spending $200 on a decent Bigsby for a $400 guitar seemed nuts even to me.

But I'm far more impressed with recent offerings from the china plant than about anything this side of a MIJ Epi.

I had no idea what you were talking about... so I googled it.

GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY!!!! I'm in love.... :baimun:
