Gig Spam The Portable Forest debuts!

I really dig the goldtop deal.
I think it looks great on just about anything, but that PRS really works well with it.

that said, I've never ever seen a PRS go for less than a Gibson here, but small-town Manitoba ain't the best place to buy guitars
I'm sure I'd find better deals in the city, but that's a bloody long trip.
the one shop that's (kinda) close never had one (PRS) that was under 4K or so...obviously way outta my price range.
but if yours had been in the shop (at your price) when I bought my SG & LP, I'd have likely come home with and SG and a PRS.
and no LP.

at least I didn't come home with a Dean

I paid $1700 for it in '05. I could have bought a Les Paul R7 Goldtop for a little more.

oh, yeah, okay that's a bit more than I thought.
but nowhere near the 4K that one shop was charging.
those were used, too, no less

my SG was $1300, with case, after our lovely 15% tax.
it was ouchie, but worth every penny.
I think I got my Hagstrom 8str, both Riches, and my Ibby for less than that.
though the Hag and Ibby were used, and both Riches were 50% off.

that's the one plus to small town MB guitar shopping, almost no one else wants the pointies...I get 'em cheap

Consider that my guitar with bird inlays would have cost $2500. PRS options are expensive.

OTOH here's my bassist:

That Warwick bass cost as much as my PRS, Ric, & Allen combined.

that's a hot bass.
I almost bought a Warwick many years ago, but it was way cheaper than that!
don't recall the model name, but I think it was about a grand at the time. (give or take a bit)
this would have been about...'94? maybe?
something like that.

ended up drinking(etc) the money, damn shame.

it wasn't as fancy as that one (plain finish, no f-holes, 4 strings)
but damned if it didn't play like magic.

And he is running it through an Acoustic amp? Was that provided or is it his?

I saw the videos on FB, it sounded pretty damn good. I really liked it.
