That’s subjective, I guess.

A Tube Screamer is a thing though, and it has a specific purpose, and providing simulated tube tone is objectively not part of that purpose.

I disagree. Ibanez/Maxon has used many different methods over the years to generate the square wave in the TS circuit. This is just another iteration.

It is the YouTube way. I once congratulated a YouTube reviewer of an Epiphone Thunderbird bass for spending five full shonkycam minutes dribbling on about the number of frets and so on without playing a h*cking note. (Eventually it did; it didn't sound good, because they are after all aren't.)
