This was created by Ren Wall when he was working for Gibson in 1964. Ren still works for Heritage at the Kalamazoo plant. He is credited with several innovations and has a love for offbeat instruments. He's also a heck of a nice guy.

Nah, it's basically just a ripoff of the LaBaye (yes Bob Mothersbaugh's old guitar).

Bob Motherbaugh's guitar was a LaBaye 2x4. He didn't make the guitar. Interesting story.

Yep, they were job shopped by Holman-Woodell for Henri's Music in Green Bay,WI. Back when I was a young 'un, I used to make the 35 mile trip to Henri's from my hometown of Manitowoc, for my guitar gear (though in retrospect Henri's was kind of a ripoff price wise). IIRC, Henri's (which has been out of business for quite some time) had a couple of LaBayes mounted on the wall of the guitar department.
