The Friday Thread 2:Electric Boogaloo!!!

Did our final walkthrough on the new place yesterday. panic0

Got my nephew's first birthday on Saturday, then a waffle breffis at the stable on Sunday. Other than that I'm going to be short-circuited from the stress of not knowing the next step re: the new place.
 
Friday off. I was out in the back yard last night with the dogs when I see a green parakeet land on the porch. The seed feeder was empty and he was looking for food. I managed to keep the dogs back when the chihuahua walks right up to it and the bird didn't fly off. I do the same and reach down. It hops on my hand! :i: Obviously a hand fed pet that was released or escaped and will die outside, being so tame.

Well, we now have a new pet. I think the word has gotten out among animals that our house is a sanctuary. :facepalm:

Today - work. Dr appointment.

Saturday - work, lunch with my nephew in from New York and then gig at the Blue Beet

Sunday - LA Amp and Custom Guitar show.
 
Work. Well, Fridays are slow. It is the last day for a cool co-worker so we'll take him out to lunch.

A cool front showed up so I'm looking forward to excellent weather this weekend.
 
I have no idea what's going on this weekend. Docs recorded on the new place so it is officially ours now. That being said, we're renting it to the old owner for the time being, so I'm not sure what our timeline looks like on that front.

I've got some work to do today, but if I can concentrate and get it done early I'm hoping to put a dent in the new Johannes Cabal book. :embarrassed:
 
After work we are driving up to Kerrville and Fredericksburg in the Texas Hill country, for a birthday thing for my mom and some Oktoberfest action. Also playing golf up there.

Should be fun, as Tig said the weather is going to be primo, and I am craving the Enchanted Rock Red Ale from my favorite brew pub in Fredericksburg.

Cool. My favorite part of the state is the hill country, especially Kerrville and Fredericksburg. It will be in the low to mid-50's there at night, so bring a light jacket young man. cop0
 
I was supposed to go to the cirque show at the casino tonight but I felt like crap this afternoon. So, I bailed. I'm watching the Robert Plant concert.
Tomorrow, if it's nice outside, I'll put up a new storage shed. Going out for dinner and to see that Elvis impersonator guy.
Sunday, close the pool. Maybe move stuff into the shed.
 
NOt sure about much. My Saturday night gig got double booked and we lost the toss I guess. I need to get past some technical difficulties and shoot my first truefire video today and we have a family outing for my daughters birthday on Sunday.
 
I think we're in the eye of the storm, so to speak, in a couple of different life-change situations. Don't know that we're going to be doing much.
 
Went to a colleague's house up north today. He does an engineering appreciation day each year for all of the engineers on my team.
He fishes all summer on the lake near his house, and we have a fish fry, burgers, chicken, beer.
I played his trophy guitar that was custom built by his neighbour across the street. Amazing.
He got a deal on it because there was a little bit of colour transfer from the molds to the side of the body. He'd normally sell it for about $6000.
I'm not sure what my friend paid for it, but it was no where near that.

We're having my wife's family over for Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday. So, Saturday will be cleaning, running last minute errands, and shit like that.

Monday - day off.
 
Headed up to the new ranch today. Gonna try to layout where fencing will go, where trenches will go, etc and so on and so forth. After some consideration, I believe we are fast tracking our departure from the current facility. The state park dept can fuck itself in its fucking meathead face.
 
Right now I just want to survive today at work, and then celebrate by grilling some nice filets for supper.

The weekend will probably be quiet, get some chores done. Maybe we'll see a movie.
