The Closet Drummer...

Modern Saint

Every so often I have the desire to jump behind a drumkit. I can do a basic beat and that is about it. Can't play what I hear in my head due to the lack of practice...

Thought about buying a practice pad set just to go through the motions and saw a pad kit on Craigslist...sigh...

Sadly this little poster sometimes stirs some motivation...

I would double the number of people in each catagory (except bassists, that looks about right).... but half of the guitarists only play metal... and of the remaining part, half of those are too irresponsible to show up to a practice... and half again need a ride from their girlfriends.... and half of that small group of bassists are actually sucky guitarists.

.. then half of the vocalists would be douchenozzles... and then half of the tiny pool of drummers suck, or are illiterate or need a ride from their girlfriends... leaving you with the tiny group of good drummers... who are in multiple acts.:helper:

I got a kit mainly for recording, it's a great way to spend several hours pretending to be Keith Moon without dying.

I got an acoustic kit but just converted it to electronic (change heads to mesh, install triggers), I can put it back to acoustic pretty easily since I didn't have to do any mods to it. Saves a lot of money and I like the way they feel over an e-kit.
