Tab software—a little help, please?

Got this email last night. Before I reply and tell her she's out of luck, does anyone know of software that can do what she's looking for (or something similar)?

Got a fancy-shmancy guitar for Mother's Day this year, and an awesome teacher to boot. Excellent for de-stressing, which is why I'm up so late (typically it's just beer.) SO...... I have a Mac, & I want your suggestions for guitar tablature software that I could put my (old-school yet wonderful) teacher's stuff into. It's been Xeroxed 7000 times since the eighties, and I want to do something nice for him (he's also getting tix to Shovels & Rope in September.) "I have no clue" is an acceptable answer, but you're the first person I thought of.

Guitar Pro is definitely the best option as far as output with a relatively easy learning curve and the fact that it's guitar focused, but it will never be as professional or full-featured as Finale or Sibelius, which are expensive and have a steep learning curve.
