I keep opening this thread to look at the gorgeously smooth gradient on the top. Whoever did that was a master. Compare to the sloppy assed work on this hunk of shit:

Yeah, it does seem inspired or at least influenced by the Ravelle.

I've actually been thinking about selling that Ravelle. It's a great guitar but I just find myself gravitating to my actual Les Pauls, rather than my "Les Paul on drugs." There's a vintage Hagstrom Swede I've been thinking about picking up locally, and the Ravelle would probably finance most of that purchase, if I went for it. Not sure I could find anyone to pay what it's worth though, unless maybe the stigma of Chinese-made guitars (albeit in this case, with Seymour Duncan stock pickups) has faded considerably.
