I love shit like this. Nothing but pure, raw talent. No effects, no auto-tune, no nothing. Just shut up and sing. And do it well.

Based entirely on that one vid, I don't think that her voice nor her singing are all that good or special.
 
I don't agree....There's something raw about her that catches...

Not every female singer has to sound like Barbra Streisand or Sarah Brightman..

Where the hell would the world be without people like Sarah McLauglin from my home town...Or women like Tammy Wynette....Kasey Chambers.....Iris Dement.etc...You know....A little off the beaten path........

I hate Sarah Brightman, too. :shrug:

I admire Babs a lot.

There are plenty of Irish/UK folk singers that I love.

Probably true.

It is amazing how many famous, successful bands/artists I have heard in interviews lately who stated flat out that in today's music industry they never would have gotten signed.

Plenty of singers with killer voices who are very average looking....
