Still chasing the dragon

Honestly, while I like (but don't love) the effect on recordings, but a real rotary speaker in a live environment is totally immersive...sound waves bounces off all the walls, intermingling mid air, all coming back to the listener at different angles, etc.

The best a pedal can do is try and simulate what it sounds like on tape...nothing seems right live.

The Rotary speaker sound in my Strymon Mobius is quite good though. I've not tried the Lex but if its better than what I have now it must sound pretty damn good.

But you're right about a real rotary speaker in a room. There is definitely a physical component that the pedal won't get.
 
I adjusted the wet/dry mix tonight and that helped some. Switching to the neck pickup helped some too. I'm gonna see what happens in band practice before I do anything rash.
