I'm still on a Bowie bender and I was watching this clip from the Heathen tour. It's rare for me to really notice drummers, but this is funky as hell.

The funk bass player impresses me more.
Besides, most of the credit should go to drummer Dennis Davis for creating the original beat.

First of all, I'm not saying that Sterling Campbell isn't a badass. On this song, though, the playing is fairly straight forward, even the playing during the synth solo was just a 16th note pattern on the hi-hat. Having said that, he was spot on with his playing.
