Spotted on the road this weekend: Cool old Lotus Europa

Spotted about an hour northwest of Albuquerque.

WOW! I almost bought one in that same color many years ago, but the thing was so stuffy hot inside, it was undriveable in the summer. It had the matching plaid seat panels as well.

I remember seeing a few as a kid. Really unique design that not everyone can like, but I'm not everyone.

Whoa. From that angle looks like a mutated El Camino.

First time I saw one was on the streets of Kansas City, I was just a kid. I'd love to have one, though upkeep/maintenance/parts would be a challenge.

Was browsing photos and found this slightly modified Europa.

The car looks modified, too.

When I worked at a British car dealership back in the 70's one of the brands we sold was Lotus. I got to work on all the Europa's as all the other guys were larger than me and hated getting in and out of them.

Someone who works at The Anderson's in Maumee drives a black one. Very very tiny car.
