Spanish ham at Costco.

Costco is currently selling a few packs of fine Spanish hams. This isn’t the cheap shit from Whole Foods. They have the good stuff, and you can even pay through the nose for acorn-fed stuff. I’m quite happy about this, as even in NYC I had to go to a specialist restaurant to find a decent selection, and Costco is selling four kinds in a single pack.

I'm just happy Achmed's Quickie-Mart had a tin of truffle-fed, free-range, limbe-smoked, boar haunch left after the holidays.

i don't know a thing about spanish ham and i'm not even hungry, but suddenly i wish i still had a costco membership and a costco within reasonable distance from my house.

I still think the best meat comes from Argentina.

I tried the crazy acorn-feed jamon iberico a few weeks ago (not from Costco). It was outrageous! Just melts in your mouth.

However due to the price the regular jamon serrano is going to have to do most of the time. It is still delicious.

If you’re every in Manhattan eat at Pata Negra in the East Village. They serve the best hams you’ll find anywhere. You can seriously go in there and eat nothing but cold cuts, toast, cheese, and apple slices for dinner.
