The engineer in me hates it. The neck attachment looks over designed, difficult to manufacture and align. Why go through all the difficulty when 3 or 4 screws and a flat plate can achieve the same result. All of that complexity just adds to the cost.

Don't overthink it. Just enjoy the aesthetic. If it was all about unadulterated utility, we'd just play telecasters.
