what is the normal penalty for attempted presidential assignation if you aren't "insane"

I feel like him and his lawyers faked being insane to get a lighter sentence and avoid real prison. it sets a bad precedent.

if he isn't insane anymore he should be in jail if the normal sentence would still be going on. you don't get to claim insanity to get out of something and then a years later say you aren't insane anymore and want to be free.
