Show us your silverburst / silver sparkle guitars

Not a burst. But Blizzard Pearl. A "warm" silver, or silver with a touch of mother of pearl in it. Hard to photograph, but beautiful. Has a nice tort PG on it now which looks really great, IMO.

Used to have a Fernandes Native X. Decent enough cheapie, but I think the nut was miscut or something, I had to run the high E string under the string tree weird so's it wouldn't jump the nut on enthusiastic bends. Sold it, along with another or so, to finance when I bought my Hamer Special.

Below is a shot from a three and a half minute Crash Pad record store (Media Play) appearance on June 12, 2000. The sheriff's deputies showed up about 5 minutes later. Although we'd agreed to play the set for free as a promotional appearance, when they broke our agreement and called the cops, I threatened to sue their asses in small claims. They ended up settling for a Benjamin, even. There's a song called "100 Dollars," on our second full-length release, about it.

Win/win/win.

It just occurred to me that the t-shirt I wore for the Media Play gig was emblazoned with the logo of Wayward Council, a local punk-run "record store collective" and show space. So, basically a competitor of Media Play, that stood for its exact opposite mindset/worldview. Jeez, I'm so good at being obnoxious I can do it without even knowing it.

I gave my stepson my TV Silverburst 1966 G400 SG (and a modified Super Champ XD) for his birthday last March. He loves it way more than I did, so that's wonderful for everyone.

I am a HUGE fan of the SC XD. Short of dropping the many extra dimes for a full-tube amp, it's the perfect small-gig/practice amp. I used one for years for my church gig. And continue using it for my performance art/experimental side band, which tends to perform at low volumes.

Here's the SCXD at an open-air un-mic'd minimal PA gig with the side band, in conjunction with a vintage Marshall solid-state:

And I know what you mean about giving gear to people who love a piece more than oneself. My rhythm guitarist has a talent for breaking shit, and typically only brought one guitar to shows, so I used to bring an unbreakable Frankentele to gigs, for him to use as backup. He ended up playing that Tele more than I did, so when he hit ten years with Crash Pad, I just gave the dang thing to him. Win-win.
