DESCRIPTION:
Here we have a rare Ribbecke Monterey 25th Anniversary Archtop from 2004. A specacular piece that doesn't come along very often with all the Ribbecke mojo you've come to expect. No bell or whsitle was left off this one - a master builder's masterbilt guitar.

- Carved spruce top
- Single cutaway
- Upper bout soundport
- Birdseye maple interior
- Carved birdseye maple back and sides truss rod cover, tailpiece (with ebony) and pickguard
- Flamed maple neck
- Snakewood binding throughout, including modern f-holes

- Ebony bridge and saddle
- Ebony headstock with deco abalone and signature inlay
- Ebony fingerboard with Larry Robinson inlay of lilypads, vines and sundials
- 1 11/16" nut
- Gotoh tuners with ebony buttons
- Floating Bartolini pickup
- Original hardshell case with brown alligator print
- All mint

Beautiful. A bit on the gaudy side but at $20,000 it's not so much showing off as displaying what that kind of coin will get you.
 
I usually love their stuff, but this one isn't for me.

I'm sure it sounds amazing and has otherworldly playability though.
 
Wanted to like it, but just couldn't. It's a little over the top for me, and so is the price. That would be on the "look, but don't touch" list for me.
 
It's looks cool, but is waaaay out of my league pricewise (although, I'm sure that just like classical guitarists are with custom instruments, there are probably jazz guitarists out there more than willing to cough up the cash for one of these).
