Afternoon all from Oslo. On a site visit and it's all going a bit Pete Tong as the hardware we need arrived lunchtime when it should have been here last Friday ready for us first thing this morning.

Hope the head gets better @the_huge!

When do the Scottish school holidays fall @jbj ? My son's only had 3 weeks of his 6 so far here in the South West.

Did a great gig with the Queen tribute band this weekend. The guy running the festival was VERY impressed with us and wants us for 3-4 gigs the coming winter (he also runs the nearby ski resort/hotel). Excellent. :grin:

Amp I ordered from Andertons got delayed a couple of weeks though, apparently it got a bit more popular than they and the people building it expected. :embarrassed:
Hopefully it will be well worth the wait, should be getting it towards the end of the month.

It depends on the individual council but it's generally the last week in June until the 2nd week in August give or take a bit and actually it was only 6 weeks and 2 days wok :embarrassed:

Kids start back on Wednesday and I'm going to be taking a class of 4 all with extensive physical and developmental conditions - I was hoping there was a chance I could work the system to get myself dual registered so I could officially teach primary as well as secondary but I can't see that happening as it's such a specialised and limited role I'm doing - will be interesting to see how it pans out and just now Im not sure I'm going to like it but it keeps the wolves from the door so who am I to complain?
 
You're doing the turban thing all wrong, @the_huge. Plus it's a myth that they make you better at cricket.

:grin: I wasn't playing, but umpiring. Batsman smashed the ball straight at me and I didn't have time to do anything but turn my head. Ear, meet Ball. 11 stitches. The hospital also gave me a new turban:

FWIW, I am completely recovered and looking forward to umpiring my next match on Thursday.
And if anybody ever comments on the small lump missing from my ear... "Well.... you know,... I was in with that Mike Tyson once." :wink:

Hadn't had a chance to change. This was just back from the hospital, in the lounge of the (rather posh) hotel where some of the players (including the one whose wife had taken me to/from the hospital) were staying. My B&B was a couple of miles away, and the lads wouldn't let me walk it and insisted on getting me a taxi - after a couple of sherbets...

Going to the CAMRA Real Ale Festival tonight. I'm not an ale drinker but the tickets are free. I'm going to take a few cans of Carslberg along, just in case :embarrassed:
