what got deleted? Will enjoy your perspectives on the whole thing since for me the dialog of that sort is the whole point of having such discussions. Perhapse I give them too much credit and it's really more like a guitars-blog in the back of a playboy magazine site or something. :shrug:

when you got banned, it was at 12 pages. he cut out 6 pages including more than 50 of your posts. he left a lot in there though. i'm kinda suprised at some of what stayed.

don't worry about it. the whole reason i started a thread here was because i saw it coming and wanted to have an actual discussion. which after 5 pages is finally getting somewhere.

It is nice imho when the discussions develop enough depth. Sorta seems all they're missing is a better control mechanism than banning those who expose their vanities ... appearws.
Btw power is out here now...phone works.:) should go tweet.

if you approach them with depth, then they'll develop. but spamming and hoping a discussion will develop is a recipe for bannination.

From my perspective I gave them truts they fear... depth... they called me names...then flamed worse till they got their way and their forum is left absent real depth. Curious how that may appear from another perspective.. btw, many enginering blogs handle that fine... bu it seems when multi flames get tolerated mob rules and it appears a core reason mwgf is soooo much better.

from their perspective, you didn't give them anything except youtube videos and hyperbole. i applaud your enthusiasm, but you needed to step back and approach them on terms they can have a discussion with. you're the one trying to change the market, not them. it's their turf. doesn't matter if they're cavemen. the inability to relate to somebody on their terms is where ideas, no matter how good they might be, fall flat.

The "trap" is if you try to offer them depth you get flamed to thbe point where responses can become characterized, usually as. Spam but in reality that remains the core of that thread even now... so it just appears childish like 4chan.

if you try to have a reasonable discussion on a forum, it can happen. you just have to ignore the people who want to turn it into a flame-fest.

there's actually a lot of forward thinking people on TGP. they just get lost among the Gibson fanboys.

Well said. Still telling cave men about real houses seemed like a good thing. The problem is teir audience reaches past caves.... I for one would like to see forums like theirs manage that ballance better. Hcaf is an example that's worse. And by the time its disintegrted to 4chan its nothing but noise which is about what's left of the thread now... contrast to medweb omg or other pro blogs and even here... good forums are valuable and the nasty ones are just forms of porn... sure there things where those are the only place the batboy story is alloud print...weekly world news...tgp...hcaf,...4chan... I won't worry about being banned from hell either.

telling cavemen about houses doesn't really do anything for them. telling them about plumbing and ventilation might though. they've already got a house.
 
P. I have been bullied and have had to fight the wole playground at once... they're very lucky. Only one kid got ___. There are times to fight and times to hide. So I fought. Well see in a few years who won. Like when power guitars wipe out their business:)

I've gotten 3 "warnings" over there (TGP).

I almost never get banninanted or warned anywhere else.

The sole exception being ultimate-guitar.com, which appears to be moderated a couple hundred mentally challenged Limey pre-teens, who delight in random and thread-specific rules. I've gotten several week-long bans there.

Imho first sign of trouble seems unanswered inappropriate flames. Not that they exist like even here. But above where paul calls help on it and help explains where the positive hope exists...then we move on. Over there without teacher present waldo better run and hide till he comes up with. A bazuka or a power guitar. And once the weapon is exposed he'd best use it. Thanks again guys. Gotta go for now.

I would love to know how you get into trouble. You are one of the most even mannered folks online that I know. :)
