Recording electric guitar question.....!

For the next coverfest I have a definite sound in mind for some electric stuff using reverb and trem. I have both of those on my DRRI, but is it better to use the amps 'verb/trem or to record the guitar dry and add the effects to the recorded track? I have a pretty good reverb plugin but I'm not sure about trem....

I find it best to use vst on track at least unless you are a seasoned professional. If you get that one magic take and then find you want to tweak the depth of some effectyou can do it without ditching the take.
