Recommend something on netflix...

Ack
Seriously tired of wading through old, crappy movies to find something decent...

Action? Thriller? Horror? Actual good story?

Recommendations please!

Black Mirror is a British dark satire with a technology theme that just turned up on Netflix. It’s INCREDIBLE. I’ve been watching it this week and it’s the most affecting TV show I’ve seen since watching Twilight Zone as a child.

Come Back to Me is good if you like horror movies. It’s not a slasher movie or torture porn. It’s a slow-burn creepy psychological thriller. When it seems like just another bad direct-to-video flick just sit through it—they’re just setting you up for a payoff I won’t even hint about.

If Black Books is still on there it's a great dark British comedy.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Yes, the first season is a bit rough, but it's a fantastic show.

Firefly. #neverforget

The 'Burbs. Tom Hanks forgotten comedic role.

How To Grow A Band.documentary about the Punch Brothers/Chris Thile.

I Am Trying To Break Your Heart. Documentary about Wilco, circa 2001, and the release of their transitional album "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot."

Also, I've been going to wiki and looking up all the nominees for Best Picture of past years and getting most anything I haven't seen before.

Most are pretty good films. A few have been o_O

Series:
Sherlock
Breaking Bad if you haven't seen it. Starts off slow, but stick with it. Seasons 3, 4, and 5 are the most intense TV you'll ever see
House of Cards is awesome. Kevin Spacey is intense.
American Horror Story season 3 was OK. Starts off good, but peters out toward the end.
Parks and Rec. - first season sucks, but great thereafter.

Movies:
American Beauty - one of the best black comedies ever
The Usual Suspects
Mary and Max - seriously, just watch it.
Reservoir Dogs
The Station Agent
Hunt for Red October - The only decent movie made from a Clancy novel
Duck Soup - You can't go wrong with Classic Marx Brothers!
Barton Fink - Strange stuff from the Cohen brothers

Documentaries:
20 feet from Stardom
Muscle Shoals

Watched 20 feet from stardom - enjoyed it.

Machete kills - wow was that dumb.

Sabotage w/Ahnold - dumb, violent and gruesome, better than Machete, but not by much.
