So I was bored last night and read an interview with Brad, formerly the owner of Mojo Hand FX. Apparently, the Socrates pedal started out as a Rat clone, but ended up not being one. That would explain why I didn't like it, I was looking for a Rat and it wasn't one. Maybe I'll pick one up again some day and give it a listen while not expecting a Rat.
