Rad 80's video game commercials.

I so loved Pole Position.

When the Atari 5200 came out with their version of the game, it was exactly like the arcade version. It was quite stunning. Every time you played it, you felt like you were getting one over on "the man" by saving a quarter you'd have otherwise blown at the arcade.

I was invincible at Joust.
still am, in fact...

anyone remember the Arcade Action Hour cartoon from the 80's?
good times.

"The graphics go beyond your wildest dreams"

lol-049

and "your parents help you hook it up"? lolz

hey, this was state of the art technology!

always hated having to screw that damn switchbox onto the back of the tv...

I couldn't keep the cars on the track in pole position. Always ran through that damn sign. Haven't played a video game since.

+1 My favorite game. I never played the Atar homei version, but it was where I would always go if we went to an arcade. The POV aspect of the game was really cool to me.

The only time I ever saw those videos was at a movie theater. I never had a console game at home, so playing stuff like that was always at the arcade.

And the guy in the commercial looks like this now:
