Prettiest Song You'll Hear Today

So you didn't like it? I think it's great.

What, exactly, do you like about it?
The Casio keyboard drum track?
The incredibly boring guitar riff that goes on and on and on and on and on?
The atonal, caterwauling vocals?
The out of tune guitar noodling?
The "beep bop boop" computer noises?
Seriously, how the fuck does anyone actually enjoy listening to that?

I kinda liked it:embarrassed:

she sounds like that gal from Nerdy Girl, who we played with back when it was a 2pc group.

oh,and would.

I like the whole damn thing. I dig the arrangement. Dig the guitar. Love the vocals. Like the lyrics. The mood is great. I just think its really pretty.

Not everything can be Night Ranger.

I liked that song a lot.

It's a bit precious for my tastes.

Yeah, it was half "female Ben Folds with fuzzy wall-of-sound guitars and a drum machine" and half "Cyndi Lauper without the vocal confidence, style, charisma, etc." A little bit of syncopation/funk would really have gone a long way on that one.

It's kind of curious how Sad Nav can dismiss stuff like the Decemberists and Grizzly Bear as "twee" and "precious", yet eat this up. I don't get it, yet.

You also have to factor in fussiness. Grizzly Bear's stuff sound labored over and/or like the work of music majors. The Decemberists' stuff just doesn't click for me. I think the theatricality puts me off.

meaning what?
overly sugary, sorta thing?
frilly, pointless fluff?

can't say I've ever heard it.

then again, I don't recall the last time I read anything a pop music critic wrote:wink:
