Please recommend a guitar cable...

So I've never really cared about guitar cables... I know they are integral to your sound, but it's just something I never really cared about. I've been using these Planet Waves cables... I really like them. I especially like the fact that they are guaranteed for life.

If one breaks, I just go to the website, request a Return Authorization, send them the cable and they send me a new one. Works like a charm, but I'm kind of getting tired of using cables that crap out within a year or so.

What would you recommend? Not looking for anything too pricey, but something that will last is really what's important... oh, the guaranteed for life thing would be great!!!

Thanks in advance.

I am using Road Hog.
I get them from a shop 2 blocks away.

No problem so far, seems like a sturdy cable. Been 3 years of home use on mine now.

I have a 20' unused right angle in my bag now.

I think I bought it because it was the only right angle cable he had. The right angle works best for my when sitting on the couch. It doesn't kink up the end.

who needs a 20'

Anything but those Fender coily cables...

I recently go a Hoya, and it seems decent. I've also had good luck with store-brand cables.

I have a bunch of the planet waves cables too....a few of them I've had for several years and I've yet to have one crap out on me.
The Fender braided cables are really nice. I haven't personally used one but a friend has some and loves them. They seem really rigged and don't seem to get twisted up.

I love my coily cable.

I have a couple I bought off Reverb when they were on sale. They get the job done.

I use Dimarzio braided.

I had gone away from them for years with some of the boutique cables, but came back. I have no idea what warranty they offer, my current ones are a few years old (but I don't gig) and when a cable craps out on me, I buy a new one.

I picked up a Mogami gold cable recently. I don't really notice a sound quality difference with my poor hearing, but I was more concerned with dependability and longevity, where Mogami gets good marks.
I've been wanting to try the George L cables, since seeing Eric Johnson using them. They look very pliable. I just didn't know if they'd hold up to the shitty way I treat cables.

I've been using these for the last year or so

No reason other than they were the right price. I think I have 15' cables. No problems at all. I refuse to use expensive cables onstage.

I've been using Planet Waves Classic series for at least 4 years now, including the patch cables on my board...I have a variety of 10, 15, and 20 foot cables, some with 90 degree plugs...

I had one 10' with 90 degree end go bad on me recently, but they are not lifetime, just 2 year warranty, so I just trashed it...all the rest are still going strong...

I have a lot of old 90's proco hardware cables custom made back when music stores would make custom length cables for you for less than a prepackaged cable cost. I also have picked up the MF stupid deal cables over the years, so I have some Fender, Dimarzio, and Planet Waves cables. My pedal board is all mogami, as I bought a set of parch cables on Amazon. I also have lots of patch cables from unknown sources.

I guess I don't pay much attention to cables. I just use what I find handy.

Unless you buy into all that snakeoil salesmen rubbish, I would say cables make zero difference to your sound. Any decent cable that is reliable will do, as long as they are quiet and of reasonable quality. I wouldn't spend a fortune in booteek cables.

I've got a variety of cables, including a 20 year old plus Whirlwind that has never missed a beat, a custom made one with quality cable and some top end Neutriks on it that my old bass player put together that is probably the best cable I've got, and a couple of D'Addario Planet Waves Accessories Custom Guitar Cable - Right Angle - 20foot (6meters).

The Planet Waves are the top ones I could find available short of their circuit breaker range and have a lifetime warranty. At three years in they have been rock solid with no issues so far and I've got no reason to doubt they won't last for many years.

Which Planet Wave are you using if they're dying every year or two?

Or what the hell are you doing to kill cables that fast?

The new MXR cables are decent and priced right. I have a Vox coily cable that I love. Planet Waves still make a good cable as well.
