I am in need of a dual humbucker face melting guitar for around $500. Need to convincingly mimic bands like Queen of the Stone Age or Kyuss. Also, must not be pointy. Would consider wierd shapes. I like V's. but can't play 'em while sitting...

Please help the helpless.
 
PRS is going nuts with the SE line right now... many in the 500-600 range.

Depends on if you want trem or hardtail, single cut or double, natural finish or solid, etc.

You should be able to find a used faded Gibson SG for that which is perfect for what you want to do. Gibsons are perfect for that sound:

Whats wrong with a strat? As far as im concerned, the strat body is as comfortable as a guitar gets.

I'd prolly get a MIM fat strat if it was me.
