I have no doubt he has a pile of vintage Tele's, but I can't recall seeing him play anything with Fender stamped on the neck.

Apparently paulownia is lightweight but strong...I'd guess it might ding easily, while spruce has a rather high strength and can really take a beating. So capping that softer wood with a harder wood can theoretically give a very resonant guitar while keeping it sturdy.

But the bad relic job cannot be denied.

I like this guitar a lot...but the relic has to go. I don't mind a GOOD relic job but this one is not good. And this guitar would just look better painted properly.
