I've only played them a few times, but what I remember putting me off the most about Ovations was that the rounded back tended to make them want to fall away from me. I supposed if I owned one, I would figure out how to get around that.

I remember seeing a Breadwinner in the music store when I was 13-ish and thought it was the coolest thing ever.
 
Very sad indeed. I'm an Ovation fan. I've loved them since the 80s. I hate to see jobs lost like this. I wonder if Fender wasn't involved if the brand would have been able to continue on.
 
Wanted an Ovation when I saw Paul Weller playing one with the Jam back in the late 70s or early 80s (specifically, on the song "That's Entertainment".) I've had two (both MIK models) and found that there were issues with them, but still like the design. They simply sounded better plugged in than most other acoustics.
