Optimize Your Signal Chain...

I disagree with the order. Order is preference. There are no hard and fast rules. My pitch shifter is first because I find it tracks better there. My tremolo is last because I like it there.

Capacitance is real, but a well placed buffered pedal with a transparent bypass will help alleviate that.

Interesting bit of info, especially the 18.6' cable run, the note about buffers, and the issue of the tuner.

Author is wrong.

What Howie said is correct.

He says it as if to say "well, there are people who disagree, but here's the real way."

How could you derive that ^ from something like this? v

"Before continuing, all signal chains are, under any circumstances, subject to experimentation. If any of the following advice were set in stone, this article wouldn't need to be written."
or
"The general order to place effects is as follows, which an asterisk representing pedals whose placement is generally subject to taste or experimentation."
