omg I never thought I'd type this

Ugh, I had to take the rest of the day off because of all the phone calls. Apparently I'm the only one level headed right now and holding it together. Anyway, here are the reports finallly in the local news outlets:

I tell you what, as messed up as his marriage was at times, they guy was devoted to keep his marriage going for his kid's sake. His mother in law and father in law are ministers for the whatever denomination the Salvation Army is. We thought something bad may happen eventually but not to this extent. Mike was a hell of a friend and would give the shirt off his back for anyone. I knew him since kindergarten.....the man didn't deserve to go out that way....fuckin shot in the side of the head. The news reports sound like the wife and kids weren't home at the time......I really hope so for the kids sake.

RIP buddy....your troubles are over :(

Thanks man...I know forums aren't the best place to air out stuff like this but I just needed to type it out for some reason. Since everyone talks to me for advice and guidance, I never really get to talk to anyone else.

Yep, she was a minister. I think I talked to her once at the wedding reception...can't really remember what she was like though.

+1 Vent away, we're here for ya. There's definite therapeutic value in being able to air out your thoughts and get things off your chest and this place has an astonishingly low dickhead concentration for a musicians message board. We're here if you want to take advantage of it.

Sorry to hear about this. I wonder if I may have known some of his relatives way back when. I knew some Hockenberry's in Cambria county. Not good though just in acquaintance.
 
Thanks everyone....it was definately a long day yesterday but the shock of it seems to be over...for me at least. They posted more info this morning in the local newspaper (http://www.lewistownsentinel.com/page/content.detail/id/520696.html?nav=5010) and even though the details were pretty graphic, it still left some unanswered questions....such as what led up to it happening and where the wife and kids were at the time. Maybe I'm crazy but some part of me thinks there are more people involved than just the mother in law just by knowing how that family absolutely despised him. Anyway, back to the grind today....
