It's New Pawn Shop Gretsch Guitar Day!

I stopped by a pawn shop that I almost never stop at on my way back home from a doctor's appointment in the city. I found a Gretsch G2504 that needs a little tlc. Apparently these are pretty rare. They were only made in 1999 just before Fender took over.

I rewired the Gretsch this morning. That thing has a 3/4" maple cap on it. I decided to reuse some old pickups instead of using the new set of Kentrons. So I replaced the magnets in an old set of Rose humbuckers with alnico 2 and used those. I didn't have matching knobs but that's okay. I oiled the fretboard and polished the frets. This is what I ended up with. The setup on it was good. The neck is a medium C. It's a very comfortable guitar to play.
