NGD (Why I was asking about DeArmond Gold Tones)

I just got home from a hundred mile drive to check out this DeArmond Guild Starfire. It was in A#1 condition and I liked the sound so it followed me home. A little heavy for a semi-hollow. Came with OHC and had been up-graded with Sperzel tuners and coil split mini-switches. The GTs sound real nice. Chimy and complex. They work well split. A real clean guitar with practically no fret wear. Neck is not to thin, not to fat. I think these we're made in the Cort factory for DeArmond Guild in the late 90s right after Fender acquired both Guild and DeArmond. The pick-ups are USA made. Everything (Finish, wiring, pots, hardware...) seems very high quality.

P.S. Note the bridge uses small posts. Not the large posts found on most imports.

That looks nice, HNGD!

My 2006 Carvin has those Sperzels, I can't say that I care for them much. I think the Reverend locking tuners work much better, fwiw.

The problem with the Sperzels I've had in the past was that if you loosened them to much they would come open and the pin would fall out ( good luck finding it ). These don't seem to have that problem. They work very smoothly. I have Fender locking on my Strat and I like them also.
